The bride was 35-year-old Spanish publicist and activist Alejandra Silva, whom he had initially met in Positano in 2014 when the actor went there and stayed in her family-owned hotel. Silva was previously married to mining executive Govind Friedland, and both connected with their shared plight of divorce. Soon after they began dating, she became a Buddhist following Richard’s example and moved to New York with him.
