Ester Expósito is a Spanish actress and model who gained international recognition for her role as Carla Rosón Caleruega in the Spanish Netflix thriller Élite and its follow-up, Elite: Short Stories. She took acting lessons as a child and won the prestigious ‘Madrid Theater Award’ at the age of 13. She later appeared in several Spanish television series and films such as Vis a Vis, Estoy vivo, When Angels Sleep, Your Son, and La caza. Monteperdido. However, she is best known for her roles in the Netflix thrillers Élite and Someone Has to Die. She Was Determined to Be an Actress Early on
Ester Expósito, who was born on January 26, 2000 in Madrid, Spain, wanted to be an actress since she was only four years old. While her parents wanted a “normal” life for her and did not allow her to act as a child, they supported her in taking acting lessons. She started doing theatre at a young age and won the ‘Madrid Theater Awards for Best Actress’ in 2013 and 2015. She got her manager at the age of 14 and began acting professionally. She Earned International Acclaim Playing Carla on Élite
Despite having two film roles under her belt, it was Ester Expósito’s main role as Carla Rosón Caleruega in the Spanish Netflix thriller Élite that skyrocketed Ester to fame in 2018. She played one of the students at the fictional elite high school Las Encinas in the teen drama series, which quickly became a “guilty pleasure” among young audience in Spain and around the world. She played the role for three seasons until 2020 and has described it to be “one of the characters that I enjoyed playing the most”. Following the success of the series, her two films were released internationally on Netflix and she was cast in another main role, Cayetana Aldama, in yet another Spanish Netflix thriller, Someone Has to Die (2020). She landed her first American magazine cover in the January 2021 edition of Bello. She has revealed that she is learning to speak English fluently and is interested in working on international projects. While Netflix had previously announced that she wound not return to Élite after season three, she reprised the role in 2021 for three episodes of Elite: Short Stories.

They reportedly began dating in late 2018 and were in a relationship until October 2019, when a Spanish media outlet reported quoting Rico that they were no longer together. Currently, she is dating another of her fellow co-stars, Alejandro Speitzer, whom she met on the set of their Netflix series Someone Has to Die in 2019. Ester Expósito is a self-proclaimed feminist who often uses her acting platform and her social media reach to promote positive changes in gender equality. In her interview with Bello magazine, she boldly stated, “I also want to fight for and use my voice to continue moving forward in the feminist movement.” She further hoped to be able to bring her children into a world “without inequality and injustice” and want them to understand the feminist movement. Apart from feminism, she also often speaks about other social issues through her Instagram. Before the recent Spanish general elections, Ester Expósito criticized the far-right party Vox and talked against racism, sexism and homophobia while sharing another post by a pro-feminist group.
